Centennial Elementary School together with all Duchesne County Schools is implementing a study hall program for students who are both low academically and frequently absent from school. The CES study hall will happen during our mid-day recess and lunch times. Participating students will eat their lunch in study hall. A before and after school study hall option will be added in the future. If your child is required to attend study hall, you will be notified by school staff. Times spent in study hall working on academic skills will be used to make up for days absent from school. If attendance continues to be a challenge, we will continue with our procedure of students and parents/guardians meeting with the school principal to develop an attendance contract. We have amazing teachers and students at CES. Our goal is that all students attend school at least 90% of the time in order to learn essential standards from our amazing teachers.

This week we have Picture Day on Monday, October 14 as well as Parent Conferences on Wednesday, October 16 and Thursday, October 17

Bus Drivers Needed! Training 11/4-7/2024

Our students are amazing!!! For our kindness challenge, we set a goal for our students to double the previous record of 40 kindness cards turned in in one week. As we counted up the cards turned in on Friday, they quadrupled the previous record. 161 cards were turned in. Some examples of acts of kindness turned in included: "I'm new at CES and _____sat with me at lunch and asked me to be their friend," "________helped me clean up my supplies when I spilled them," "__________ gave me a hug when I was sad." Let's continue to choose kindness each day CES.

Centennial Elementary has been taken over by super heroes this year. Our students, teachers and staff are amazing. Thank you Mr Novack's kindergarten class for leading the way. It's going to be an awesome year

I need to express my thanks to our amazing CES students and staff. This year, our students have a kindness challenge each week. As I've asked each of our new students if they've made a new friend or if someone has done something kind for them, the answer has been an overwhelming YES!! We have wonderful students that are truly making our school and community a place of kindness.

Students age 9 by December 31 are welcome to join 4H. Students make friendships, build community, and learn new skills. Contact Leslie Winterton with questions.
